Pursue Your Goals

We guide individuals and families toward their ideal retirements.

Our History

Our financial roots run deep. Before founding Granville Financial in 1984, Blanchard I. Granville partnered with his father, Joe, to put out the Granville Market Letter. Joe earned acclaim as the inventor of On-Balance Volume, a widely used stock market indicator. Even further back, Blanchard’s grandfather was a well-known banker who shook hands with every U.S. president from Teddy Roosevelt to Jimmy Carter, and his great-aunt was hailed as the highest salaried woman in the world in 1927 as president of the Spencer Corset Company.

That family legacy continues today. The Granville Financial team includes one of Blanchard's daughters, Noelle, and his great-nephew, Thomas Walters. In addition to undergoing rigorous instruction and education, each professional was trained extensively by Blanchard himself over the course of their careers — and in the case of his daughters, their lifetimes.

We’ve been in this space for generations, and when you place your trust in us, you can take comfort in knowing we will be here for you for generations to come.

Founder
Not Affiliated with Level Four Financial

Blanchard attended Duke University and St. Andrews Presbyterian College. He graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

He worked as a partner with his father, Joe Granville, publishing the Granville Market Letter from 1978 to 1983. During that time, he helped build the business into one of the top stock market newsletters in the world. On January 6, 1981, they put out their famous “Sell Everything” letter, which caused, the next day, the largest one-day volume for the New York Stock Exchange with a very sharp plunge in stock prices. This forecast was within 2% of the exact top in the Dow and resulted in a 24% bear market. Up to that point they had called every turning point in the market within 2% of the exact tops and bottoms for five straight years.

After his father remarried and moved the Granville Market Letter to Kansas City, Missouri, Blanchard decided to enter the retail side of the stock market and became a stock broker. In 1988, he earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and is at this time the longest-practicing
CFP® in Moore County, North Carolina. In 2019, Blanchard started Granville Wealth Management, Inc. a Registered Investment Adviser. He is not affiliated with Level Four Financial.

Blanchard and his wife, Elsie, have been married since 1978 and have three daughters (Noelle, Jessica, and Melanie) and nine grandchildren.
